PRIVACY POLICY
What happens to your information?
We use it to answer you. We don't sell it.
Plain English. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we'll answer in a sentence.
Effective date: October 5, 2026 · Applies to: the Benefits Ninja pages on this website, the forms and booking links on them, and emails you send us from them.
Who is responsible for your information?
Benefits Ninja. We're an independent benefits, payroll and HR firm for small businesses, founded and led by Jason Thorne.
These pages are hosted on the website of Save with Benefits, a separate company that partners with us on employer cost savings. That's why your address bar shows savewithbenefits.com.
Do you sell my information?
No. We don't sell, rent, lease or trade your personal information. We don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, which is how California law defines “sharing.” We disclose it only as this page describes, or when you ask us to.
What information do you collect?
Only what we need to answer you. It depends on how you reach us.
- Contact details. Your name, business email, phone number and company name.
- Business details you choose to share. Your headcount range, what you need help with, and anything you tell us about your situation.
- Booking details. If you book a call, the time you pick and any notes you add.
- Communications. Emails you send us and notes from our calls.
- Device and usage information. Pages viewed, the page that referred you, browser and device type, and approximate location based on IP address.
We collect it from you directly and from your use of these pages.
Do you collect health information here?
No. These pages and forms don't ask for it. Please don't send diagnoses, medical records or claims tied to a named person through a form or email. If something like that reaches us, tell us and we'll delete it.
If your company later shares claims or census files as part of an engagement, those are handled under the written agreement for that engagement, not through this website. If you enroll in an insurance product, the licensed agent and the carrier collect what enrollment requires under their own privacy notices.
Do you take payment information on this site?
No. These pages don't collect credit card numbers, bank account details or Social Security numbers.
How do you use it?
- To answer you. Reply to your message and confirm your call.
- To build your options. Compare costs and plan options for your business, when you ask us to.
- To follow up by email. About your request and related benefits, payroll and HR topics. Our emails include an unsubscribe link.
- To run and protect these pages, and to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
Who do you share it with?
- Save with Benefits, our partner. It hosts these pages, so what you submit here is stored on its website platform. It uses that information to help answer your request and to support the cost-savings programs we offer together. It doesn't sell personal information either.
- Service providers. Website hosting, forms, email delivery, calendar scheduling and web analytics. They handle information to provide their service to us.
- Licensed agents, carriers and program providers, only if you decide to move forward, and only what they need to quote or deliver.
- Your own advisors, such as your CPA or counsel, when you ask us to include them.
- Legal and business transfers. When the law requires it, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
What about cookies and tracking?
Cookies are small files your browser stores. These pages use two kinds.
- Essential cookies keep the pages and forms working.
- Analytics cookies show which pages get read. Decline them and the pages still work.
The site's cookie banner lets you decline non-essential cookies, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Do Not Track. Browsers send this signal in different ways and there's no common standard yet, so these pages don't currently respond to it.
What about links to other sites?
These pages link to scheduling tools and published research. Once you leave, that site's privacy policy applies, not this one.
How long do you keep it?
As long as we need it for the reason we collected it.
- Client records for the life of the relationship, plus the period tax, accounting and legal rules require.
- Contact details until you ask us to remove them or they're out of date.
What are my choices and rights?
Ask us to do any of these. There's no fee.
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Get a copy in a portable format.
- Opt out of marketing email.
California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado and a growing list of other states make some of these legal rights. We honor them whatever state you're in, so you don't have to check. Using a right won't change the service you get.
How do I make a request?
Use our contact page, call (323) 375-8283, or email [email protected]. We'll confirm it's you, usually by checking the email address we already have, and respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent; we'll ask for proof that you gave them permission.
How is it protected?
These pages and forms load over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access is limited to the people working on your request. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affected your information, we'd notify you as the law requires.
Do you collect information from children?
No. These pages are for businesses and aren't directed at anyone under 18. If we learn we've collected a minor's information, we'll delete it.
Where is it stored?
In the United States.
What happens if this policy changes?
We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle information you've already given us, we'll tell you by email or with a notice on these pages before it takes effect.
